Moore Wins 67th District House of Delegates Seat

November 9, 2016

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Delegate-elect Riley Moore issued the following statement regarding the Nov. 8 election victory:

"First, I must say thank you to everyone who voted for me in the election.  I will not let you down.  This victory truly belongs to the people of the 67th district.  For the first time ever, the 67th district has chosen to move in a different direction and elect a Republican.  I fully understand and I am humbled by the awesome responsibility that has been given to me by the voters of Jefferson County, and I will never forget the faith and confidence that has been bestowed upon me by the Democrat, Republican, and Independent voters of my district.

This would not have been possible without the hard work of all of our friends, family and volunteers across Jefferson County. I am incredibly humbled and blessed to have this opportunity to serve the residents of Harpers Ferry, Shepherdstown and Shenandoah Junction in the West Virginia House of Delegates.  Also a big thank-you to my wife, Guillermina Garcia Moore, who campaigned tirelessly with me the whole way.

This campaign was about our future and bringing jobs and opportunity to our region and state.  This is a message that resonated with households throughout the district.

I will fight every day for Jefferson County’s fair share in Charleston and I look forward to working on behalf of all families in the Eastern Panhandle.

Thank you for the outpouring of support and I look forward to serving in the West Virginia State Legislature."
