FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Harpers Ferry, WV – The Moore for West Virginia campaign is thrilled to announce that the West Virginia Farm Bureau has endorsed Riley Moore for House of Delegates, District 67, in the Nov. 8th general election. There are over 500 farms in Jefferson County and many of these family farms have thrived in the region for decades.
“Farming is the backbone of our economy, from our horse industry to our commodity crop growers. Our hardworking farmers are responsible for an impressive $83 million per year in revenue for Jefferson County and any legislation affecting farmers affects us all," Moore said.
The West Virginia Farm Bureau represents more than 17,000 member families. The members are productive, conscientious citizens dedicated to improving the quality of their lives and the lives of those who depend on them. The Bureau cares about feeding our families, the environment, educating our children and speaking out on issues of concern.
Legislation and regulation often affects farming and, in turn, the pocketbook of every citizen. The professional staff of the Farm Bureau assists with this process and works with legislative and government leaders at the county, state and national level.
“I’m proud to stand up for the property rights of our farmers in Jefferson County and push back on any onerous regulations or overreach that threatens the livelihood of our family farms,” Moore concluded.
